Life revolves around cycles. For thinking humanoids like us, I like to call them versions. Currently I am in version 4.0. Recently v 3.5 crashed on me. It was time for an update. Sometimes these updates are thrusted at us. A sudden change in circumstances can do this. Sometimes we just need to make them happen. 4.0 was a combination of both. In v 1.0, v 3.0, I was conscious of the change.
Often the versions in between the whole numbers are unconscious. We shift and adapt according to what life throws at us.
I am 43 years old, with a 21 month old child, incredible career changes and a healthier outlook on life.
We all start out at v 0.1 and make updates from there on. Most people spend their early 20’s in v 1.0. This is the devolopment stage. Some will see that version crash on them, needing to fix the bugs that are holding them back. Others will need work on their UI, the user interface, the look and function that pertains to how they are viewed and how they view themselves. For example, a change of hair style may be a minor UI adjustment but can elicit a greater change down the road. Many will need to scrap the whole v 1.0 and move right to 2.0 because their initial thoughts and ideas did not get them to a place they've desired.
This is ok. Most people of "greatness" have needed to reinvent themselves.
Keep updating. Keep working on it. Much of the greatness we see is surely not the first versions.
What version are you? Where are you at in life? How will you update? Will it be internal or external?
See yourself as a process. A work in motion, fluid and open to change.
